Before prohibition, Missouri was the country's second leading
wine producer, behind only New York. Today, a new generation
of well-educated winemakers, healthier lifestyles, and the increasing
consumer demand for locally brewed spirits has once again catapulted
Missouri's wine industry into the international spotlight. Growing
70 percent since 2001, Missouri now ranks 11th in the nation.
Missouri wines are once again winning national and international
acclaim.

Fredericktown, MO Winery
Vance Vineyard and Winery is a small, but growing,
family-owned business. This area saw an influx of German immigrants
in the early 1800’s who were searching for a homeland
that reminded them of their beloved “Old Country”.
The rolling hills and clean rivers beckoned to them and they
cleared the land of trees, stumps and rocks and planted their
crops. The “Old Schulte Farm” is now home to Vance
Vineyard and Winery. The tasting room construction is representative
of the German architectural style, as are the entry towers and
the plantings. Visitors to the Winery will easily imagine themselves
in the heart of German wine country. It houses a banquet/meeting
room, a hearth room with piano bar, and a small gift shop. Several
balconies and patio areas, one with an outdoor stone fireplace,
provide ample and comfortable seating for viewing the lake,
the historic old silo, and of course, the vineyard. Enjoy
their wines
with a selection of cheese, sausage, crackers and fruit.
